Carrots

  • Carrots are available mid to late July.
  • We grow a Nantes variety of carrot which are known for their sweet taste and superior flavor.
  • Nantes are recognizable by their characteristic blunt tip.

Beans

  • String beans thrive in hot weather and mature in early August.
  • We grow three different colours - yellow, green and a novelty purple bean.
  • The purple variety turns green when cooked and have an excellent flavor.
  • Broad/fava beans are large lima-like beans and each large pod contains 4-6 beans.

Peas

  • Fresh green peas from the pod - nothing beats this sweet taste and flavor!
  • We grow the Green Arrow variety which is ready for picking in late July.
  • The peas climb on a 4 foot fence/trellis, allowing for easy picking.
  • Consumer demand for peas is high and supplies often sell out quickly. Please call to confirm availability.

Beets

  • We grow two different types - a round and a cylindrical shape.
  • Both types have excellent flavour.
  • The long cylinder beets give consistent shape for slices in beet pickles.
  • Beet greens are excellent cooked and are filled with lots of nutrients.
